HMRC Gateway Availability

HMRC have published a notification about the availability of the PAYE service for online submissions. It is reproduced below for your information:

Monday 4 April 07:00 - Wednesday 6 April 06:00

Due to a scheduled upgrade you will be unable to access our online service between 07:00 on Monday 4 April and 06:00 on Wednesday 6 April. If you use commercial software you will still be able to submit your returns for PAYE End of Year, PAYE In Year, PAYE Expenses and Benefits and PAYE Domestic Schemes however you will experience a delay in receiving your online acknowledgement between 08:00 on Monday 4 April and 06:00 on Wednesday 6 April. Your acknowledgement will be sent once the service is restored. Please do not attempt to resubmit your submission. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

WinAccs and Anti-Virus products

We have established the most common cause of issues with WinAccs transaction posting (duplicate audit trails, VBPost locks, A1 locks etc) is aggressive Anti-Virus checking and stopping the 16 bit subsystem on Windows from operating correctly. You must add the following list of programs to your application exception list so that these programs are free to work correctly:

    C:\Windows\System32\ntvdm.exe
    C:\Windows\System32\wowexec.exe

    C:\Program Files\Compact Software Limited\WinAccs\xact.exe
    C:\Program Files\Compact Software Limited\WinAccs\xactlink.exe

As every Anti-Virus product is different, we cannot give specific help with your product, but recommend you contact your Anti-Virus software vendor for assistance.
