Compact spooler
- Addressed an issue where the current data directory could be inadvertently changed if using the 'Email report' function.
Menu
- Corrected an issue where selecting 'Check for updates' from the Help menu caused an error.
- Created a new feature so that HotFixes can be installed without requiring the original program to exist.
- Company Autobackup Control. Created a new feature so that archive company data can be excluded from the regular, daily Autobackup. See System Admin/Company Autobackup Control when logged in as BOSS.
- Addressed an issue where selecting 'Print recent messages' without selecting a company caused an error.
- New feature so that reminder text can be edited while being viewed.
Security
- New method of selecting an Autobackup for restore. A grid is now displayed and you can sort the order of autobackups as you wish.
V-Rex
- Allow font size to be selected from drop down list.
- Only allow snapping of lines and boxes to half grid positions.
V-Rex spooler
- Removed the new option to 'Convert TA files' and perform this function automatically.
WinAccs
2 digit dates
- Fixed an issue where 2 digits dates after 2010 were converted into 19xx dates. Only affected the 16 bit subsystem.
Account file verification
- Added a check to ensure that invoice header and detail lines are where they are expected to be.
- Added a new feature to delete all transaction records for a particular audit trail. Company data will require a relink after this operation.
Contracts WIP
- New filter to include or exclude 'not started' and 'live' jobs. The difference between these job status' can be defined as either a job with no transactions or a job that has not reached its start date. Updated the reports to include this information on the header.
Currency maintenance
- Added Currency maintenance to the WinAccs menu.
- You can no longer edit the home currency (GBP).
- The home currency is always shown first on the currency select form.
Database utilities
- New option to check and reset the next audit trail number on the control record if it becomes corrupt.
- New feature to re-order the bank accounts on the control record.
- Visual update to number the options more clearly.
Invoices
- If posting a Multi Currency invoice, while writing the invoice to the transaction posting file, calculate the order gross and use that value instead of the converted order value otherwise a rounding error may occur and the batch could be discarded.
- If entering a contract write off, the contract name and existing write off are displayed when the contract is entered and now when the contract is cleared, the name and existing write off are cleared also.
- When invoicing from sales (not purchase or subcontractors) orders, the invoice address is picked up from the order and populates the header section of the invoice.
- Addressed a minor issue where a customer or supplier name containing ampersands were shown with double ampersands in the invoice batch.
Journals
- Addressed an issue where the Post button sometimes disappeared off the form.
System reports
- New report to summarise nominal journals filtered by date (NOMJRNL.VRX).
- Updated 'Who entered unauthorised invoices' (INVCELOG2.VRX) to include subcontractor invoices.
- Created new system report 'Unauthorised invoices by batch title' (INVCELOG3.VRX).
Transaction posting
- We have identified an issue with the Windows cache not being updated by the XACT posting engine. To counter this, we have implemented a system where we force the network cache to be refreshed both before and after the transaction posting. You may see a window saying 'Waiting for network refresh'.
VAT report
- Update to VAT Report to account correctly for EU Input VAT (Acquisition tax).
WinPay
4x4 department maintenance
- Addressed an issue when the first group of records could be deleted without first checking if they are used in the database.
Count of employees
- During the production of payslips and prior to the advance, the total number of unique employees for all companies is counted and checked against the number of allowed employees from the licence. However, this check included archive company data, which could lead to licencing issues. The new employee count excludes company data that is not in the current tax year.
- Produce an audit file of the total number of unique employees per company and offer to display it if the licenced number of employees is reached.
Database utilities
- Created a brand new utility to check the validity of the System pay elements. If it finds any issues, it will offer to correct them.
End of year
- When purging stored payslips, some files were being deleted in error. If needed, these can be restored from your pre-purge autobackup.
- When taking the WinAccs EOY copy, use the new CopyFolder system which gives user feedback as to progress.
- Make it so that you have to use the Purge button instead of just marking the purge complete.
- When there are no NIable earnings or deductions, the system which marks the NI letter as X was not checking the correct fields for 2010/2011 tax years. Affected both P14 and XML production.
P11 maintenance
- New feature to lock the currently viewed period while still allowing you to browse employees.
Pay detail reports
- Include leavers on the pay detail reports if they are being paid before their leaving date. PAYDETAL.VRX and PAYDETLE.VRX updated to accept new parameter of Pay Date.
Pay elements
- Addressed an issue when looking at system pay elements caused an invalid record update.
Pay slips
- Force the use of the Director's NI calculation if a director is marked as a leaver.
Statutory tables
- Added new record for new National Minimum Wage rates from October 2010.
Timesheet entry
- When entering the first SMP payment, you are now asked if you want to pay this as a lump sum.
WinStock
Purchase orders
- After clicking New, if you select Exit or close the program, the Reject button is automatically pressed to reset the next purchase order number correctly. Also, after viewing an order, the ledger box defaults to Purchase and the @ button is now also available.
- Added VCR buttons so you can quickly browse for orders.
- You are now allowed to view completed or cancelled orders. But you are not allowed to edit or delete lines.
- If entering a multi currency order, offer to override the VAT code for all lines on the order.
- Addressed an issue when reprinting sales and purchase orders, the order number could be corrupted leading to not being able to find the correct order.

- When reprinting sales orders, the status of the order was not being read and displayed correctly.
